Break

And so I'm back.. from outer space.. LOL! It's been two months since the last time I blog. My life was on a crisis that's why I put my blogging career on a break. Now that I'm back I'll try my very best to update this blog every so often. Will leave you three pictures of what happened to me during that two month break.

Visited two of the many Majestic Falls in Iligan City, Mindanao

Maria Cristina Falls
Sources say that they use Maria Cristina Falls as their main source for conducting electricity through their Hydroelectric Plant.

Tinago Falls (Hidden Falls)
Would you believe that before you reach this beautiful waterfalls you need to tackle 418 steps?

Willy's Rock, Boracay
Visited Boracay for the second time. My heart was still there where I left it. Still mesmerized by its beauty. I will always go back here :]

Those are the reasons why I am on a blogging hiatus :] and also the reasons why a part of me wants to stay here in PH.

I am so back..

My Ice Bar Experience: FAIL!

I know that it has been a month since I last posted an entry here. Been busy lately. But this one's worth blogging and ranting for.

Watched a lifestyle show last two weeks ago and they featured this Ice Bar to which they're claiming it to be the coldest bar here in the Philippines because it is ZERO DEGREES daw! So me being awed by their feature excitedly told Tinee about it. The next day her friend Anna told her the same thing and wanted to try it out. So they scheduled it that we are all going on Friday.

So Friday came, we were all excited we even got lost (no thanks to the google map!) then finally arrive. We were greeted by their staff at front desk. For us to experience the ice bar we need to pay P500 inclusive of food ala buffet style, refillable iced tea, and unlimited cocktails or bottled alcohol drinks. But there was a time limit, I think it will start around 6 P.M. until 12 midnight. We came in past 11 so the staff told us that she will adjust our time to 1 A.M. how cool is that?

We first went to their 3rd floor, it is where their dining area is located. No comment regarding their food.

We decided to experience the ice bar already so we headed down to their basement but was advised to grab our drinks first at the 2nd floor, so we did.

Finally the long wait is over, as we grabbed our drinks and headed down stairs to their ice bar. We were greeted by the people in-charge there. They gave us jackets to keep us warm. I thought that the P500 will get us farther but I was wrong, we get to experience ice bar but we need to pay another P150-P200 for us to experience drinking from their shot glass made of ice. Plus picture taking is not allowed. Picture taking will only be allowed if you want to avail of their shots.

We were then ushered into the ice bar room. To our surprise there was nothing grand or even to brag about that ice bar. There were no pretty ice sculptures, plus it's not even ZERO DEGREES! I even got the chance to remove my jacket. We were so disappointed that we just stayed there for like 15-30mins then went upstairs to their normal bar setting.

Anna told us that she was a victim of false advertisement and I totally agreed with her. We all are a victim of false advertisement.

Over-all, did not like what I experienced from that bar. It was sooo overrated and overpriced. For me it was just a scam that they claimed to be the coldest bar because of being the first ZERO DEGREE bar here in the Philippines. We just wasted our time, effort and money.

Lesson: "Do not believe in everything you saw on TV until you see it for yourselves."

Tumblr!

Title has no relation of me getting another social networking account. I cannot managed them anymore. LOL!

Tinee, started collecting Starbucks' tumblers the moment she received a Taiwan tumbler from Diane as a pasalubong.

So one evening, I tried googling the other Starbucks Philippines' tumbler designs when I came across FredOrange's website. I was shocked to see a wide range of tumbler compilations here in the Philippines and overseas as well. I was awed by the colors and designs of the tumblers to the point of me wanting a collection for myself narin. LOL! :]

Tinee told me that it is much better if we visit the place to get the tumblers ourselves instead of asking someone to buy it for us, And I totally agree but it is only applicable here in the Philippines, we still need the help of other people if we are aiming the international ones. LOL! :]

So here's the list of our must-go Starbucks Coffee Shops:

The pictures were in form of cups but the designs are just the same with the tumblers. :] Well, aren't they pretty? Check out FredOrange's website to see the tumblers of the other countries. As for me, I'm excited on what will my first tumbler be? Is it in a ROYGBIV order or LUZVIMIN? LOL! :]

Defining Love

I came across this book while searching for the paperback cover of the Wimpy Kid 6 and another book which was inspired by the Sex and the City movie (forgot the title) yesterday at Fully Booked.

The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan

Source

The book was describe as a love story written in a dictionary form (sounds interesting :])

Search for some excerpts of the book but I came across the author's twitter account instead and to my surprise all of his tweets were about the book's definition of love.

Sharing some notable tweets of the author:

camera, (n.): What I capture is something of you and something of the way I look at you.

call, (n.): When I’m away, I still want you to be the last voice of the night.

bulletproof, (adj.): I don’t want an invulnerable heart, but I want everything else to be protected, so your aim would have to be perfect.

both, (adj.): With one simple word, we are joined - and yet it still acknowledges that we are two. This is my ideal.

bombard, (v.): When you use “I love you” to prove something, it proves nothing but your own desperation.

betrayal, (n.): I don’t know which is worse – that you did it, or that you wanted to.

Those are just some of the many love definitions in the book and I really find it interesting, aren't they? Guess where my weekend trips will take me. LOL! :] It's a good opportunity for me to read something new. The last book that I read was Dear John pa!

Happy Tuesdays!

MaliNomnomnom na Tanghalian (A Tasty Lunch)

Remember that I blogged about planning something special for Tinee this month? Well guess what? I have already accomplished two out of my original 3 plans. LOL! :]

We've already watched "The Vow" last February 10 and just this Saturday, I treated her for lunch (plan was dinner date :]) at Nomnomnom.

Heard a lot of mixed comments about Nomnomnom and finally we got the chance to try it for ourselves. Thank you Metrodeal, I saved 250 for a 500 worth of voucher (I just love group buying sites).

As we entered the place, we were welcomed by their quirky decors. Somehow it reminded me of "Just G" (a clothing brand for girls and girls at <3), "Heima" (a furniture store), and somewhat a tea place because of the lamps, books, bird cages, teapots and teacups, etc. Also it will remind you of a canteen set-up because of their wooden tables and chairs or even a tambayan (place where you hangout). The vibe of the place is very down-to-earth. You have to see the place and judge it for yourself.

They have a wide variety of food choices to select from their menu, from the soups, to the salads, appetizers, pizzas, main course, rice toppings, etc.

Anyway, off to what we ordered:

Fried Ravioli (P110/6pc) - deep fried pasta pockets stuffed with cheesy kangkong and mushroom

Taste was ok. I know it was stuffed with Kangkong and Mushroom, but there was no mushrooms at all only kangkong and cheese. It was served with a dip and homemade salsa. I suggest that you eat it together with salsa and drizzle a little of its dip to taste better.

Nuggets Mo? Rice Crater (P110) - Veggie meat nuggets in chili sauce

Tinee's dish, I end up enjoying eating her dish than mine. The chili sauce is not spicy at all, it tasted like tomato salsa. I also liked the after taste of the nuggets because I kept on guessing what were the nuggets made of.

Lime Chicken with Alfredo Sauce (P180) - Chicken strips marinated in lime and drizzle with alfredo sauce.

My dish. I expected that there were parts of the chicken strips not covered with alfredo sauce so that there will be a little comparison in the taste, but it turns out to be like this. Also hoping that the alfredo sauce is tasty and cheesy but it wasn't. Chicken was tender. That's all.

Nomnomnom's House Blend Iced Tea and Dalandan Juice (P40/glass)

Boom Chikka Wawa (P90) - Ice cream cookie sandwich

Tinee wanted something for dessert so we ended up getting one. The texture of the vanilla ice cream was perfect, not too soft and not too frozen. Although we have a hard time eating the cookie.

Over-all experience was good, it could have been great. There are restos that serve veggie meals but still taste great. Sayang, the place has a lot of potential because of it's goodie-good vibe and the concept of the "tambayan" style. I'm still giving it a chance next time we dine here.

As of now we're giving it a rating of: 3.5 out of 5 foodie points

Have a great week ahead..

P.S.
Please have your own restroom. I freaked out when I saw a lizard's head stuck on the restroom's door :[

Des Fleurs et Des Chocolats

This is just a quick post on what I received from Tinee last Monday.

I usually receive roses from her on special occasions but this one's exceptional because she gave me Chrysanthemums ("mums"). Tinee told me that it reminded her of a Gossip Girl episode where Chuck gave Blair a bouquet of peonies (B's favorite flower and B's my favorite character)

Source

Chocolates, 3 of its kind. I like chocolates that have biscuits, cookies, or wafers inside. I like the munching sound whenever I eat them LOL! :]

More chocolates :]. I know it's fattening but I love white chocolates. I can gobble a whole bar of Toblerone in one sitting. LOL! :] I also love mint chocolates and Andes is my reliable buddy when it comes to choco mints.

If you are shy to ask someone out on a date why not try asking it with Mentos :] LOL! Cute Mentos packaging for Valentine's Day plus it has a surprise inside.

Ta-dah! Found two pink colored Mentos inside, I was really surprised to the point that I posted it on instagram. LOL!

So there, those were the things that I received last Monday. I know it sounds cliche, but I am that kind of girl who likes receiving flowers and chocolates not just on Valentine's day but on any other day with or without occasion. :]. For sure next week I'll die because of toothache. LOL!

Drizzling Thursday Everyone..

P.S
Spread the LOVE not just on Valentine's day but everyday.

SPOTTED: Solemate's Candy Colored Flats

Last Friday while at SM Makati, I spotted these cute dainty pair of flats on the rack with a signage that says "any 2 for 399.75". I told myself that I would not let it pass, so last Monday I went back to SM Makati and purchase 2 pairs for myself. My sister got envy and purchased 2 for herself too. LOL! :] It is super comfy. I think I can walk, the whole day with it or even drive wearing it since I told my sister that I would use it as my driving shoes LOL! :] and besides who would not dare purchase those flats at that cheap price?

Here are some photos of our (me and my sister) candy colored flats and tell me what you think of the them :]

Aren't they lovely? Can't wait to wear them this coming weekend :] Go grabbed two (1 pair cost 299.75) at any SM Department Stores near you, but I prefer to check SM Makati first. :]

Happy Wednesdays!
